They had a social dance in the evening. R. N. Warnock has sold his stock ranch to Mr.. Damon from Ohio for 812,000. Miss Nettie Willonghby returned to Eddyville from Nortolis, where she has been for some time with Mrs. Lou Hamar. Mrs. Shirley and daughter, Mrs. George Colehy, and family have re turned from a visit to Valley points. Hugh Berry from Lyons spent the holidays with A. 15. Hunt. Miss Ross, teacher of the Little Elk school, and Miss Hampton, teacher of the Eddyville school, re turned from their vacation January Miss Wakefield has closed tier school at Chitwood and is earing for her parents. Her father has not recovered from his accident on South Beach in November, and her mother was seriously injured by a fall recently. Miss Luce, teacher ii. the Grant district, recently Iniarded the train at Eddyville to attend the wedding of her sister in McMinnville. Mrs. Fish has resigned her school at Nortons. Miss Hamar is nobly sticking to her post as teacher of the Hock Creek school, though the discom fort of the miserable schoolhouse is a disgrace to the community.
