Mr. Kentta is very anxious that this matter be taken up and the work commenced. His idea is to build the road leading north out of t wn through Run bottom, cutting through the hill just west of John Crooks' place, mid connecting with the- Depoe plough road at the Enos place. The Newport road would connect with the Toledo-Siletz road at the top of ihe Dundon hill, where the new road would cross the Corvallis-New-IKirt road. Mr. Kentta figures that with a cut of 2r or 30 feet through this hill, where it is very narrow, would make a very easy grade be tween town and the Enos place. liesNles Ix-inc an easy trrade it I would shorten the Newnort r(in1 ! ftndmnke it a better grade. jIe U-lievcs this road can lie built and Planked eheaner than !, rdonl.; ! can bo laid on the old Newport road, and it would be cheaper for the county to maintain the one road than the two seperate roads, ns at ' ' "v present. He wants the people ofi Toledo to have the county surveyor ! survey this hill and ascertain the j l,ilWr r.t oaV.l?.,l,l.. 41. i on these lines. Thanksgivi ig will be on Thurs day the 20th.
