The Commissioners' Court at its
special session on June 12 did a
wise and satisfactory thing when
they gave each of the two districts
now teaching the higli school courses
Newport and Toledo equal as-'
sistance in high school work. The
voters at the recent election asked
for a county high school, and will
now have it. The Court decided to
also let the voters at next regular
primary election say where the
county high school shall be located.
In the meantime by the arrange
ments with the two districts, the
high school work will be carried on.
And now comes the season when
the sweet girl sips ice cream Boda.
Pa gets out the lawn mower and
rounds out the day's work by sever
al hours additional labor. Ma
works overtime ironing shirtwaists
for daughter to wear while sipping
ice cream soda. Little brother
makes sling shots and drives the
cow to and from pasture. In fact
everybody works but sister.
