Tho b ya had to act very ladylike at all times ami any breach of the rules was punishable by : a fine of five cents and manv fines ! wore paid into the funds of the club. . A fellow never knows how hard it is to J sit down and act nice uutill he has lo. ; Tho boys were all very quiet an 1 or i derly they ruo to be. In fact we thought at times the floor uiaii ig'ii's Were to strict. About the time a fellow would settle down in his seat am) sit on the middle of his buck to rest here would come a floor manager and Kiake him straighten up in a very uncomfort able position and pay the regulation live cents. We could not so much as g-) to the ante room to smoke. Vot wo can't kick much. While they were very strict in making us act like perfect ladies they did the tho square thing by us when 12 o'clock came. Dancing ceased aud they selected their partners, and then was brought in ono of those j elegant, lunches that, only good cooks ' know how to prepnro--and here Is ! where the boys were allowed to act j natural fur the lirst time during the I evening, anil they were not hIoat in taking advantage of the opportunity. They ate every thing iu sightor rather as much as they cou,d hold. Financially and socially the party was a success. 'Tha ladies made wo much liToney out, of the affair they promise to give several more dances to use up lie; surplus coin.
