It was somewhat amusing the last few days to note the great fear thut ctruck some of our home people when the failure of the Oregon Savings and Trust Company was announced.' A lew of our people got bit, and others hustled lively for a time to see if the particular Portland bank In which they had money deposited was etill solvent. All of these things load us to wonder why that Lincoln county money was deposited at Portland. Why was it not deposited at home? Why should a man in Lincoln county lake his money to some other part of the state to help that section of the state and to hurt Lincoln county? Lincoln county is in process of development. It needs capital to develop its wonderful re sources, and yet there are many of our people who will take a dollar a soon as theyget it and take it to Portland and put it into a bark that they know noth ing of, except that it advertises big, and then mourn when they get caught. Keep your Lincoln county money in Lincoln county. If you are afraid of ov.r brtnSs, loan it or Invest it ia soma of our growing industries, Don't make a dollar here then act like the county is not good euougu to keep it in. Eulld up Lincoln county.
