The free dunce given, by sonio of the
Democratic candidates in A. J. Wnr
nock's new barn, three miles west of
Nortons, Wednesday evening, May 23,
was a great success. There were about
1 10 in attendance and all seemed to be
enjoying themselves. Several said it
was the best dance they ever atlended.
The door was iu fine coudition aud
there was plenty of room for all who
wished to dance. The music was fur
nished by the Summit Brass Band and
Messrs. VYhitaker, Miller aud Under
bill. Shortly after midnight the ladies
spread a bountiful supper on some iui- j
provided tables iu the middle of the
building and all partook of a bcarty
supper. After all had eaten there was
nearly enough victuals left to have fed
another crowd as large. The crowd
left about 5 n. m.
A. J. Warnock will giveanother dance
June 15, to which all are invited.
