For the first time the Oregon House of representatives is solidly Reptib licau, and the Senate contains but six Democrats. Governor Chamberlain has certainly got what ho has been preach es a Democratic Governor and a re publican Legislature but, of course, 'there's no politics in it." Lincoln county couldn't overcome the big bunch of ahtis in Portland, and the woman suffrage amendment was de feated. To be bo continued. The proposed amendineut to the local cipiion law was also defeated. The direct primary nominating law is all right in spots, but needs fixing iu Others. But this is another subject.
