A New Departure on the Southern Pacific and Corvallis & Eastern Railroads. Recognizing a long-felt want, and de siring to give the public cheap rates to 'the coast in the winter ns well as the summer, for persons who desire to see the bounding billows in their wildest moods and imbibe the pure ozone of the winter air at the coast, the South ern PnciQc Company in connection with the Corvallis & Eastern Railroad have placed on sale, taking efleot Novembor 2, 1004, and continuing until March 31, 1903, from all points on their lines, round trip tickets to Yaquina at the flame rate as during the summer. Those tickets will be sold on Wednes days and Saturdays only and will be good for return sixty days from date of sale. Dr. Minthorn's sanitary bath9 will be in operation and anyone who de sires a genuine health resort during the winter cannot do better than spend a month or so at Yaquina. Similar tickets will be sold from Al bany, Corvallis, Philomath and all ' points west on the Corvallis & Eastern Railroad. Allen Learner aud James Wolfe, two Yachats farmers, were in our city Fri day on business. We are having a series of meetings at the church by Revs. Hurd, Milligau and Notts. Miss Freeda Bobell is visiting friends in our city. Chas. Graff returned from a week's visit on the Yachais and reports plenty of mud. August Dobell is reported quite sick at his home with rheumatism. Dr. Hendry', the popular dentist, is in our burg for a few days and is hav ing a howling success, to judge by the sound. . I. B. Everson spent Sunday in town to attend church. Mr. and Mrs. Eimer Helms left Mon day morning for a few days' visit at Stores, Oregon, the home of Mrs. Helms' parents. Quite a number of our young people are to ride the goat in the Artisan lodge here Tuesday night. School is progresing nicely under the direction of Miss Kent. Doc. Dalaba is spending a few days with us in the interest of the United Artisans, and is meeting with much success, he tells us. Don't forget the mask ball December 23, at Ludeman's hall.
