Commissioner Frank Stanton left Tuesday afternoon on an official drive through the south end of the county, ne was compelled to wait seven hours in Toledo for a scow to take bis team across the bay to the county road. This is an aggravating condition that should not much longer exist. The people across the bay and in the south part of the county generally are enti tied to a ferry, a bridge or some oiher certain means of reaching the couuty seat Delay in the matter is simply false economy and an injustice to a large per cent ot the taxpayers. The necessary cost will soon be made good by the increase in both population and prosperity of the south end of the county. It is a good place in which to temporarily increase that awful county debt, which frightens so many of xur good people during every political cam paign. While in Siletz last week Thk Lbadm force bad the privilege of attending a session of the Epworth League of that p'"?'.
