Committee Mrs C G Copeland, Wal ter Hall, William Aloxander, Siletz. Resolutions were passed adopting blue ribbons to designate the first premium ami red ribbons for the sec ond premium. Adjourned to moot Wednesday, Sep totuber 2, 1903. The management have secured a part of tho livery stable of Ha'l & Ander son nud will have ample room for the live Htock show. The quality of the stock to bo exhibited promises to be better than tho animald shown last year, as all sheep and cattle must cither be registered or eligible to registry. This will cut down the exhibit but there are sullkicnt sheep in the county that are pure-brod to make a line show ing and some of our cattlemen have animals that are eligible to registry or have certificates of record. The object of the Association in cutting out the grade and ecrub is to encourage our ranchmen to raise stock of a better quality. There will be a class prem ium for the dill-rent breeds of sheep and the blue ribbon animals alone will be eligible to compete for the sweep stake prize. This will do away with the unpleasant misunderstanding that occurs so frequently in show rings where animals of all breeds and grades are permitted to compote for the grand prize. Beef and dairy cattle will be shown in a separate class, each to be judged on their own merits and for their especial purpose. If the stock men in the county will bring what ani mals they can, that are pure-bred, we will have a show that we may be proud of, and if our stock 6how consists of no more than three or four of each breed and class it will demonstrate the fact that the ranchmen are awaking to the idea that blood tolls, and others will pattern after the example and Lincoln connty will soon contain as good sheep and cattle as the valley counties. The exhibit of fruit and vegetables promises to be largo, several of our local gardeners are already making preparations for the fair. The committee on amusements are negotiating with the Indians at the Si letz Agency to give a war dance if their services cttu be (.enured, Luis will be a drawing card and will induce a great many outsiders to visit Toledo during the fair. If the present interest manifested by some of our citizens is kept awake and spreads through the countv as it should, the third annual fair of Lincoln county will be a successful one.
