There is no method that will adyer use a country and its resources us wtll as a county fair. Farmers and stockmen meet and compare notes, and the produce they have brought for their exhibit, whether it consists of grain, trusses, vegetables or live stock. reDre eents the possibilities that are within the grasp of every rancher in the county and gives them an ODDortunitv to see their own mistakes and wherein they may be corrected. The board of directors have worked !H to bring this fair to an issuo and the appreciation of their services can alone be shown by the universal sup port of the citizens of the countv. The fair will be held sufficiently late in the season to enable brodnce to ma ture and ripen. It is desired by the management that as great a variety of farm products as possible be sent in for exhibition. Don't overlook any thing. Grasses, grains, vines roots and vegetables; any natural curiosity, mon btrosity, or peculiar growth will be highly appreciated. All kinds of cauned goods and preserves are desired The material for preserving fruit sueci incus will be furnished free by applying to tne president of the association. It in the intention of the management to send all the exhibits that can be pre nerved to the Oregon Information Bu reau at Portland. Let all unite in mailing the third annual fair of Lincoln County a brilliant success. , , The State Fair. No time in the history of the Oregon state fair has there been 6uch a good feeling among the agricultural classes towards the success of the fair as exists ut the present time. Every section of the state seems to be taking an interest iu the fair and promises to give it their hearty support. Eastern Oregon for the first time has promised one or two county exhibits, consisting of agricul tural products, while the southern por tion of the state will also be represented by a comprehensive exhibit of its ag ricultural products. Live stock from nil over the state is being prepared for this year's fair. - There are reasons for this awakening of the people to the support of the fair. One is, ibe management has worked hard and faithfully to make the fair as lroad as tho stale itself. The trans portation companies have come to their u -tsistance and made very liberal rates on hauling exhibits of all kinds. An other is, the people are beginning to realize that It is time to let the outside 'world know of the wonderful resources of our state, and believe that the state fair is the proper place to mcot the butter class of homusuekors. This will make the fair doubly valuable. It will give those who are looking for homes on the Pacifto const an opportunity to boo in a body what our state can pro duce, and where it is produced, without traveling all over the state at great ex pense. It will also give the exhibitor the best possible opportunity of show ing his products, whether it be grains, grasses, fruits, vegetables or live stock. C.GOTZIAN & CO., MANUFACTURERS.
