thought so. In fact, this is just
what ails Billy Bryan. The fire
totally consumes his logic.
The Salem Journal issued a very
creditable "push" number last

ator Simon has started for home to
look after his fences. Really, we
are honestly and unalterably op
posed to the ship subsidy bill, but
consider little private subsidies le

Missionary work is undoubtedly
badly needed over in that country,

Senators Tillman and McLaurin
of South Carolina came together
with bare knuckles on the floor of
the Uuited States senate last Satur
day, but were seperated while hon
ors were even. The senate
promptly voted the scrappers in
contempt, and South Carolina has
since been without representation iu
that more or - less dignified and
somewhat ornamental body. Till
man has been a disgrace to his
.late and the United States senate
for several years. lie should be
abolished. So should the United
States senate.

Tourist Excursions
to the East
The traviling public will be interested
to learn of the system of personally con
ducted excursion cars operated over the
Rio Grande System, popularly known
as "The ecenic Line of the World."
They are the regular Pullman tourist or
"ordinary" sleepers, provided with
comfortable berths' bedding and linen
of the Pullman standard. They have
seperate lavatories, are all well lighted
and heated and, in fact, are a most suc
cessful substitute for the more expens
ive "standard" sleepers, the difference
arising from the character of upholster

an excursion conductor, whose solo duty
is to look after the pleasure and comfort
of passengers in his charge.
These cars nre run through to Kansas
City, Omaha, St. Louis and Chicago,
making close connections for Boston,
New York and all eastern points.
This feature of travel has become so
popular that there is now established a
regular service of r.ino cars each week,
offering a variety of routes, and sched
ules so arranged that stop-overs may be
made, if desired, at Salt Lake CitA,
Dc'nver, or any point between.
