Alfred Toner was the happy re cipient of a brand-new bicycle. Miss Lena Huber of Salem spent several days visiting friends here. Miss Fern Bentley of Salem was the guest of Miss Cora Litchfield last Friday. Frank Parker left for Vancouver, B. C, Tuesday, to be absent sev eral months.' Thomas Bailey returned from his vacation Monday and resumed his place in the C. & E. shops. Mrs. II. N. Foster and daughter of Chit wood spent Sunday in Ya quina, guests at the Rowe House. Mrs. Walling of Pool slough went to Albany Tuesday to consult a physician, as she is in very poor health. Miss Mollie Gorman returned Tuesday from Seattle, where she had been for several months visit ing her sitter, Mrs. Warren. Mrs. D. P.
