We are sorry to learn that Mrs. Blaser is on the sick list. We are pleased to note that Mrs. J. M. Norton is improving. Miss Mable Davis came in from Corvallis Tuesday evening to visit with friends. Fred Green of Drift creek was in Tuesday getting supplies and smil ing on his friends. james Dixon ot uk L-ity was down and spent Sunday with his daughter, Mrs. A. S. Casteel. The 2d of February came, and with it Felix. He did so well we would like to hear from him again. Some of the ladies are busy making new coops for young chick ens. There will bean early market for spring chickens if the. weather is not too cold. Our people are sorry to learn of John Haas trouble. He lias lived here a long time and was always thought well of, but it is the old story of dog Tray. The Yaquina people were pleased to meet their Toledo friends, but sorry they could not stay longer. Mr. Manottie has been quite ill for the past two weeks, but is im proving slowly. There is going to be a grand ball in Alsea on February 14th. A good time is expected. Miss Birdie Grier of Alsea, has got the mumps and there is several other cases of them in Alsea. I seen in a paper that there has been a new island discovered, in Missouri. Prosperity for Missouri! Mr. Henry Boy sen's ferry boat has sunk to the bottom of the Alsea river. He was intending to go to Cape Nome, Alaska, in it. James Webber says he will not be alone very much longer. I wonder what he means by it. It seems as if he is hunting a cook. Mr. E. S. Hammersly has been coming up Fall creek pretty often lately. I guess lie is looking for a location. , We wish him good luck. i.J. Larns and J. A. Oglssby have just returned from a trip over to Big Klk. T. J. says he thinks he will go back again soon.
