Dr. Carter of Elk City came in
Wednesday evening.
Frank Scott has bought the fur
niture store of J N Stark.'
Gus Weber and son from Beaver
creek spent Tuesday in Yaquina.
Miss Ollie Logan came up from
Newport Wednesday to call on
fric nds.
Mrs. A. S. Casteel went to Al
bany Saturday, returning Monday
evening.
O. F. Jacobson and John Fogarty
of the life-saving, station paid Ya
quina a call Tuesday.
Yaquina is taking a boom. There
were three steamers in last week
the Robarts, Harrison and Copper
Queen.
John Gaither was thrown from
the handcar Saturday evening and
somewhat shaken up, but is all
right again.
Joe Bergen, an old-timer on the
bay, came in Sattirdsy evening ?.v.i
is going up to his ranch on Pool's
slough to live for awhile.
Miss Hazel Walch came in from
Albany Saturday evening to visit
her father and mother, returning to
her school Monday morning.
Mrs. J. Blower was in Yaquina
Monday, the guest of Miss Helen
Pyall. She returned to her home
near Mill 4 Wednesday morning.
Mrs. Abbey came up from New
port Wednesday morning and went
up to Portland to visit friends and
take in the fair. She will then go
to Seattle for a month's visit.
Miss Daisy Ferr departed Tues
day morning for Waitsburg.Wash.,
where she will visit during the
winter, with her sister, Mrs. John
Backus. -She was accompanied as
far as Portland by. her brother
Albert. Jerry.

Peter Jorgenson and family moved
into" town last week.
Several campers started on their
return home last week.
Quite a number of girls and
women are rilling cans in the can
nery. All ' who went to the hopyards
from here have returned and seem
well satisfied.
Frank and Johnny Johnson and
Thea Jergenson returned home
from Portland last Sunday.
James Allen and family will soon
remove to Corvallis, where they
will make their future home.
The salmon are coming thick and
fast now; and the cannery, which
was glutted, ran all day Sunday in
order to keep ahead.
With the advance of brisk fall
weather comes a demand for stove
wood, consequently several arm fills
have been cut already.
