taking a tour in Alsea. Lobster,

Hal'.ie, daughter of Dr. Darnell,
was taken seriously ill last Tues
day. Dr. Turner was summoned
to assist Dr. Darnell and under
their treatment the patient is recov
ering. Miss. Darnell had been vis
iliiig in Newport and took a severe
cold while boating on the bay.
ICdward Allen, ofKlk City bus
accepted a position in the Southern
Pacific railway office at Corvaliis.
Mr. Allen had many years expe
rience in the office of the Grand
Trunk company in Canada and
Michigan and is a competent op
erator and bookkeeper.
New blood begins to tell. We

of years. The new comers are
showing a good deal of energy and
are also showing a good deal of
faith in the posibilities ot Lincoln
