A talk ou the duties of the 1st vice-president was very entertaining ly given followed by the solo "A Dird With a Broken Wing" by the most pleasing of the younger solo ists of our city, Mrs. Mary Hutchins. Mrs. Hutchins .rendition of this song deserves special praise and was one of the best numbers on the program, The second vice-president gave a short talk on "World Evangelism," followed by the third vice-president who told of the "Work of the Mercy and Help Department" and despite the statehieiit that Marshfleld has no needy people this department has found a way to use $24 in buvinc I household necessaries such as coal, j flour, etc., in the past year only had also given though after each case been investigated. ROSEBURG, Ore., Sept. 20. Mrs. Anna M. Henry, probably the oldest resident of Douglas county, died at Oakland at the age of 99 years. She had been nn Invalid for many years past. She was a native of Switzer land, coming to this country at the age of seven years, with her parents. Her husband, to whom she was mar ried In 1S37, died in Pennsylvania in 1S53. Sho had resided in Douglas county since 18S9, dividing her time between her children at Oakland and DUlnrd, She leaves two sons nnd two daughters: Isaac Henry of Penn sylvania; John Henry and Mrs. Leah Barrott of Dlllard, and Mrs. Cath erine Herstino of Oakland. Besides these thero aro 20 grand children nnd nine great grandchil dren and six great great grandchil dren.
