The Coquille Sentinel says: "A meeting called by Dr. AA'etmore of Myrtle Point, convened at J. R. Ben son's bank Monday evening for the purpose of receiving Hon. J. H. Fitzgerald of Medford, Ore., and to take into consideration the building of a home for aged Redmen and to be located at Myrtle Point. At the last state session of the Redmen held recently at Portland, the matter of establishing a state home was dis cussed and it was decided that the Order should have a home In Ore gon and three of the leading officials of the Order were appointed to pre pare plans, select a site, and to report at the next meeting, one year hence, at which time It is expected that final action will bo taken In regard to the matter. "Fortunately for Myrtle Point, one of tho three officers selected on this committee and to promote the enterprise was Dr. Jared D. AVet more of the local hospital. Hon. J. H. Fitzgerald of Medford, and Chief M. N. Mays of Portland, constitute the other members of the committee; and It is said that each one is work ing tooth and toenail for their own towns. "The building, when completed and finished will cost about one hun dred thousand dollars, and It would be a fine thing If Dr. AVetmore enn succeed in securing this fpr Myrtle Point." J. A. Yoakam reports several buildings in construction in Coqulllo and vicinity. The country residence ot Charles McCurdy on the Cunning ham Is rapidly hearing completion, the building being entirely enclosed and the plasterers being busy on tho Interior work at the present time. AVllllam Thomas' new bungalow on Spurgeon hill will, be finished next week and Is a credit to even that exclusive residence section. Mr. Yoakam also began the construction last week of a new bungalow In tho east part of town for E. C. Barker. TO ENLARGE MILL, Bandon AA'oolen Plant's Capacity Is Enlarged. The Bandon Recorder says: "Tho Bandon AVoolen mill will close down' In a Week or s6 and remain closed", for a couple of weeks during which, time a large amount of new ma chinery will be installed, among which will be a new steam finishing machine which will enable the mill to do more work and finish up heavier goods. "Manager Bedlllton stated that the new machines would also enable them to make heavy blankets, an article for which there is much de mand. The mill is doing good work now, but the demand for finished, products Is growing so great that It Is necessary to have every conveni ence possible. Additions to two of the spinning Jacks will also be made, thus increasing the capacity of tho plant to a considerable extent. "The wooden mill has sufficient or ders ahead now to keep It running at full capacity for a year, and only recently a letter was received from a New York house tendering an or der that would keep tho mill run ning for two years, this order, of course, had to be turned down as tho Detroit firm, for which the mill has been manufacturing ever since It started up, will keep It golug constantly."
