Drops Kcrwin Case. Marshal
Carter last night received a telegram
from the Portland attorney who had
the closing of Geo. D. Kerwln's
grave postponed Sunday stating that
he found It Impossible to come here
to ascertain If the dead body was
that of his missing friend. He said
he would let the matter rest. Con
sequently, Marshal Carter ordered
the grave filled today. However, Mr.
Carter is doing a little investigating
of Kerwln's past in hopes of locat
ing relatives.
