However, before their lucky streak, tho fish were not biting well, only four being caught In tho day preceedlg. For several days, a rumor has been In circula tion that the C. A. Smith Lumber and Manufacturing Company was planning to rebuild the old Bay City Hill or resume Its operation soon. The company Is figuring on ulti mately doing this but the plans are such that the mill will not be put In operation for at least another year. Miss Bessie Coke of South Marsh fleld, was the guest over night of her cousin, Miss Maude Coke. Dr. Mllllgan, a Sunday School missionary, Is tho guest for a few days of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Myers. A Sunday School convention will be held Monday, afternoon In the Presbyterian church at which a num ber of ministers and Sunday School teachers will be present. All are urged to attend this meeting as It will not only bo a very interesting meeting but instructive as well. WM. CURTISS, Al. HANSEN and wife, of Coquille. have been spending the past week on tho Bay owing to the serious illness of Mrs. Hanson's mother. WILL LYNCH and wife, have re turned from Coquille where Mr Lynch has been employed in a barber shop for tho past month. Caught at Scottsburg. J, H. Ward, wanted here for jumping a board bill at the Rochambeau board ing house, was caught by tho Gard iner authorities at Scottsburg. Ho only had $15 in cash. After Marshal Carter had consulted District Attor ney Liljeqvist, it was decided to let Ward go provided he turned that amount over to the authorities' al though it is not quite sufficient to pay his board bill and tho costs entailed by his arrest.
