Henderson, and Miss Maude Thorn, daughter of Mrs. Minnie, Thorn, were united In marriage Monday night at 8 o'clock at the home of the groom's parents on Spruco street by Rev. F. G. JUDGE SOLVES RAD TAXGLE. and He Settles Who Was Married Who Was Xot. OSKALOOSA, la., Dec. 12. Judge Clements In the Mahaska county dis trict court solved a matrimonial tan gle that rivaled the famous "pigs In clover" puzzle. Mrs. Sophia Ket cham sought a legal separation from Uriah Ketcham. The defendant filed an answer denying that they were man and wife, alleging that one Tho mas R. Llndley, an inmate of the state insane hospital, was the lawful husband of plaintiff. Investigation showed that Mrs. Ketcham had been married to Llnd ley, but had sued for divorce a few years later. Lindley then flled a cross-petition which was granted over that of the wife. A technicality later cfaused the legality of the decree to be questioned. Upon that point hinged the legality of the later mar riage between tho woman and Ketch am. Judge Clements confirmed tjie for mer decree of divorce granted to Llndley, thereby legalizing the Ket cham marriage. Having cleared tho tangle, the court refused to allow the divorce last prayed, for which seems to have been the object desired. M R. Lee ana J. A. Goodwill, who have leasnd the Estberg mine on the Sixes, have repaired the flumes and pipes and have everything in shape for active work as soon as there is sufficient rainfall. They have found good prospects, but It will take several weeks of work to prove how i Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, Maine and Missouri, In the order named, are the greatest producers of lime. Tho poultry products have no longer uny dllllculty In excelling tho wheat crop in value. They did so last year, and thoro is every In-1 dlcntlon they will continue to do so horoaftcr. But while- tho output of poultry products ls expanding enorm ously, tho consumption is also in creasing, and nt a more rapid rato. The lesult ls that poultry and egg prices aro high and no sign of their decline is given. A good showing will bo mado this year by tho dairy products, which havo como to bo "iuoro valuable than any crop except tho corn crop. Dairy products for 190S will exceed $S00,-000,000. I made from cane and beets, tho beet pulp, the sirup and molasses of cane and sorghum, and the maple sugar and sirup, it is estimated, are worth this year $94,000,000. I Potatoes, tobacco, and hops. Un favorable weather made tho potato I crop only 275,000,000 bushels, or 5 per cent below tho five-year aver ago, although tho value, $190,000, 000, ls IS per cent above and was never equaled by any former crop. Tobacco production ls still low in comparison with recent years, but tho prlco is probably a little above that of 1907, when there was a de cided lncrense above former years. Tho value of this crop Is about tho same as for 1907 and is higher than at nny time before that year. On account of tho extremely low price of hops 'in 1907, tho average production and value of 1P0S aro low and havo been exceeded In many former years. Arrangements are under way look ing to the removal of the postofflce up town from Its present location in the Hermann block. It Is said that carriers have already been Instructed to make delivery of mall to a new location after the first of the year. Sever.al buildings have been offered for the use of Uncle Sam but no definite action has been taken. For some years It has been desirable as a matter of convenience that the of fice should be moved to a more cen tral location for the business man and closer to the residence section of the town, but not until recently has any action toward such move i been made, when It was taken up by Postmaster Steward.
