Miss Eureka Willits, whose pa rents reside at Junction City, Ore., arrived in Marshfield this week over the Drain stage line. She suddenly became demented while at the Blan co hotel and had to be taken to the State hospital for the insane at Salem today. She left in the care of a nurse on the Breakwater. Miss Willits is about thirty years old and apparently well educated. Slio came here, as near as could b learned upon the advice of a friend named Smith. The latter met her at the hotel. He was not known to the management of the hotel. Who-i it was discovered that she was derang ed, the hotel manager Ins'ntert that ho look after her which he did. Finally, her parents were commu nicated with and they ordered her cared for at their expense, it is stat ed that they will meet her In Port land. -Vhother the strenuous stage trip liere caused a nervous breakdown or not, tho physicians were unable to determine. She did not grow violent but suf fered from strange hallucinations. NORTH BEND NEWS T. W. Rennie has the contract of replanking the city wharf. The work will be completed next week. Manager Allen of the North Bend mill says that he has the new mm running so that he can clip off 90, 000 feet a day. Every saw mill is operating full handed. Tho painters aro busy on Grann's new structure. Tho buildllng will bo completed next month. It is a three story building fronting on Sher man avenuo between Washington and Virginia avenue.
