The "short cut" between tho depot and the city over tho dike, is being closed to tho public. Instead a board walk is be ing laid from Broadway, south of the Williams building, direct to tho sta tion for the benefit of pedestrians. Exhibit .Products. A gqntlo man from Bandon says that the work of building the inside jotty is pro gressing nicely and It is doing con siderable good in washing out tho north spit and the keeping of the water from tho south lagoon Is tend ing to make more water on tho bar. PROSPER PIONEER DIES AT NORTH BEND HOSPITAL Thomas Wells, Veteran of Civil War nnd Well-Known Miner, Succumbs to Itrlglit's DlHcnsc. Thomas Wells, a pioneer minor re siding at Prosper, died yesterday aft ernoon at Mercy hospital of Brlght'a disease. Ho had boon ailing for a long timo. Mr. Wells was about seventy-two years old and was a member of tho Bandon G. A. R. post. So far aa known, no near relatives survive him. Tho body will bo taken to Prosper for burial and tho services will ho in chargo of tho G. A. R. Tho Rev.
