modious launches owned by J. A. O'Kelly, which are on the North
Bend and Marshfleld run again, and the traveling public will And
waiting rooms with telephones and other necessary accommoda
tions, and will be able to get a boat everyhalf hour at both ends
of the route.
The tickets from the Bonlta, Marshfleld and North Bend are
not transferable to other boats.

Extend Service. The Coos Bay
Gas and Electric Company Is extend
ing its electric service to Bunker
Hill and Bay Park, and expects to bo
ablo to furnish electricity for that
section within a few weeks.
Wed In Myrtle Point. F. T. Bar
ton and Miss Lutta Byers, both of
North Bend, were united in marriage
at the home of Rev. Thomas Bark
low last Sunday afternoon, Mr. Bark

Undergoes Operation. Tom Hall
will undergo an operation this after
noon on his eye, the optic having
troubled him for some time. It is
not a severe operation and Mr. Hall's
many friends are hoping for Its suc
cessful outcome.
Are Not Candidates. Jesse Luse
and F. M. Fiedburg deny that they
are candidates for councilman, as
was stated at the city council meet
ing the other night. However, if the
Citizens' League should request that
they should run, It Is understood
that they might accept.
Mrs. Morris Hurt. Mrs. Morris,
the music Instructor, sustained a bad
fall on the streets, Thursday even
ing while the lights were tempora
rily out and the city enwrapped In
darkness. The lady suffered from

Capt. Wm. Darwent of Livingston,
Mont., and Capt. J. H. Sten of Baker
City, Ore., arrived hero yesterday to
take charge of the Salvation Army's
work in this section. They arc ar
ranging to secure the Redmen's Hall
for Indoor meetings and propose to
do some effective work on Coos Bay.

Lewis who was to have come here to
deliver an address was prevented
from doing so by the report at Rose
burg of the bad condition of the
stage road to Coos Bay. However,
other good speakers have been se
cured for Sunday afternoon's meeting.
Dies In California. News has
been received here of the death of
Miss Anna Bear, a well-known Coos
Bay young woman. She was about
twenty years old and was born and
raised on the Bay. Sho went south
a few years ago in hopes of benefit
ting her health. Two sisters, Cyn
thia and Ida Bear were with her at
the time of her death. Two other
sisters, Mrs. Jame's Allen and Hen
rietta Bear, reside In North Bend
and a brother, Chas. Bear, resides in
Astoria.
