IS PROPER WAY TO ADDRESS HER, SAYS NEW YORKER. Rules for Servants. 1. The servant girl should never bo called the servant girl. 2. She should be addressed as "Miss" or "Mrs." 3. She should not wear the dis tinctive cap as a badge of servitude. 4. She should have her evenings free, which would naturally lead to her living outside. 5. She should receive sufficient money to provide her own food. NEW YORK, Sept. 18. The whole trouble with the servant girl Is that she wants an easy job, ter minated by an easy husband. This is the domestic problem In a nutshell as presented to the depart ment of domestic administration of tho Teachers' collego by I. M. Ru blnow of tho United States depart ment of commerce and labor. Being a man, Mr. Rublnow admit ted that tho kitchen queen was en tirely human in her ambitions. The remedies offered, which ho agreed must sound like an impertinenco from a moro man, since woman had for so many years been face to face with tho difficulty and failed to turn up a solution, were in tho nature of deferring to tho higher power. Even after giving his remedy, Mr. Rubinow said tho social stigma would not bo lifted, but tho placing of domestic work on an industrial basis, ho believes, would make It moro endurable and moro attrnctlvo to her who must bo obeyed.
