Redfleld which had trouble with its crew at Empire a few weeks ago but1 finally succeeded in getting a new crew, reached San Francisco after a hard trip. When the big lumber cargo which she was carrying for. the C. A. Smith Lumber. Company, was unloaded, It was found that she was leaking badly. Held For Assault.. Capt. R. Caughell, at one time captain of the Berwick and well known on Coos Bay, Is being held under $5,000 bonds at San Francisco for assault ing a man named Georgeson. Cau ghell charges Georgeson with insult ing Mrs. Gaughell and administered a severe beating. Caughell is now captain of the ferry steamer Ante lope In Golden Gate Bay. I I Persona! The Marshfleld lodge of the Degree of Honor held a banquet and social at their hall last evening in honor of the ofllcers and delegates who 'recent ly returned from the Grand lodge. session at Portland. The barkentlne Gleaner Is now being overhauled at North Bend after a sixty-three days run from Iqulqul which is 5,020 miles from Coos Bay. Horses to Wedderbum. L. J. Simpson and John Herron have sent several horses to Wedderbum to par ticipate in the Marchmont race meet which will open about August 17. This will enable her to go out on her regular schedule to Portland Saturday. The Wll holmlna made her first trip up tho Coquille river to Coqullle City this morning. She ran down from hero to Bandon yesterday with forty tons of freight. In her cargo was a six- ton gasoline engine for R. D. Hume's new schooner which Is under con struction at Price's shipyard. It was originally lntonded to bring the boat here for tho Installation of the ma chinery but It was found that tho machinery could bo taken over by tho Wllhelmlna moro cheaply. ORVIL DODGE of Myrtle Point, was In Marshfleld last evening visiting: his old friend, R. C. Shaw ot Washington, D.
