Coos Bay's weather kept fully up to tho standard during June, there being twelve clear days, golden with sunshine, seven more days mostly clear and only eleven cloudy days during tho month, according to tho Bummary for tho month compiled by Mrs. K. Mingus, special government meteorological observer. There was considerable rain for tho month, more than 1.96 inches having fallen In olovon days. Despite this, tho rainfall for tho year to date Is 8.75 inches below normal. Other features of tho summary of weather conditions for Juno nro as follows: 'JVnipci-utiirc. Mean maximum G2.8 Mean minimum 47.G Mean 55.2 Maximum 74, dato 29th. Minimum 38, dato 4th. Greatest dally rango 28 Precipitation, Totql 1.9G Inches Total from September 1st, 1907. 5S.70 Inches. The middle west has been suffering from a series of floods, cyclones and wind storms In addition to the heat. WEDDERBURN, Ore., July 1. Although there are very few fish In Rogue river this season, the fact did not seem to depress R. D. Hume to any great extent. Ho did not expect the river to give up any paying quan tity this year, for tho reason that no stock had been placed In tho stream, which should bo duo this year. The next return of artificially propagated salmon from tho ocean where they went after being released from tho hatchery, Is not duo until tho year 1911, and until that tlmo If there are any reasonably largo catches of chlnooks it will bo a surprise. In 1911 ho expects tho fish planted In 1907 to return, when there should be a good run. From that year on the stream should gradually become com mercially more valuablo with each passing year, for tho reason that by that tlmo Warden McAllister shall have been able to clear all obstruc tions to tho passage of fish to the spawning beds. Then with tho hat chery continuously planting Its splon did specimens of fry. supplemented by tho natural Increase from tho up per wntors, tho salmon Industry should bo a gradually Increasing source of business activity tho whole longth of this great stream and its tributaries. Mr. Iliiino has gono to his homo at Piedmont, Oil., to rest. Ho was In very poor health most of tho tlmo ho was In Wodderburn.
