Now Pigeon Shooting Record. Friends of Miss Hilda Llndstrom of Willanch Slough claim that she re cently established a new pigeon shooting record for Coos Bay nim rods, getting ten birds at one shot. They claim to have proof of tho wonderfully productive shot. New Service to Roseburg. F. E. Wilson of Sumner, is figuring on starting a' livery service between Coos Bay and Roseburg,. He plans on making the trip In two days and laying over a day at each terminus, making a round trip In five days. Ho will provide easier riding vehicles than the stage. J. B. Rust Got Contract. It was stated in The Times Saturday, that W. J. Rust had been awarded tho plumbing contract for tho new Chandler hotel. It should have read "J. B Rust," the latter being en gaged in tho plumbing business while W. J. Rust, his brother, is engaged in the real estate business. Children's Day Program. The Children's Day exercises at tho First Baptist church, last evening, proved the most successful ever held under the auspices of that denomination. A largo audienco was In attendance and warmly praised the ones who participated in the program, which was carried out as printed, in Tho Times Saturday. Tho collection taken up exceeded any former col lection of like character. Woodmen Entertain. Tho local lodge of Woodmen entertained about 200 at a smokor, spread and en tertainment at tho I. O. O. F. Hall Saturday evening, Tho entertain ment was to launch a membership campaign which, It Is planned, will bo celebrated with the erection of a fine hall on C street, south of tho Masonic Tomplo. The affair was a very enjoyable one, Messrs. W. U. Douglas, Hugh McLain, Frank Sac chl, Dodge, McCullough, Pratt, Or ganizer Beakey and others contribut ing tho evening's program. A fea ture of tho program was a three round box bout between Walter and Castle. Picnic Parly. One of tho Jolllest of the many picnic parties that found pleasure in tho numerous resorts around Coos Bay yesterday was a score or more that chartered tho Bo nita and spent the day at Charleston Bay and tho beach. Tho day was delightful and tho scasido past-times gathering rock oystors, and shells and sun baths on the sand occupied the day most pleasantly. A flno basket lunch was servod. The launch left about 8 o'clock in tho morning L. R. NOEL and wife, have returned from San Francisco where they have spent a few weeks. CHARLES DUNGAN has returned from a trip 4o Eureka, San Fran cisco and other California points. MISSES GEORGIA and NELLIE GOULD of Allegany have been vis iting their sister, Mrs. Georgo Terry on Daniels Creek. MRS. D. McARTHUR and MISS RUTH COPELAND of Denver, mother and niece of E. D. McAr thur, tho pharmacist, arrived to day for a summer sojourn at tho McArthur home on the Heights. CHARLES MERCHANT left on tho M. F. Plant for San Francisco where ho will spend a few weeka looking after business interests. Ho will return to Coos Bay and will probably open an electrical busi ness here. CAPTAIN EMERY and CAPTAIN VARNEY of the United States llfo saving service, who have been spending some time Inspecting tho stations in this vicinity, left on tho M. F. Plant for San Francisco. W. P. MURPHY returned on tho M. F. Plant from San Francisco whero ho has been spending several weeks. He will return there in about three weeks to look after business Interests. Mrs. Murphy remained at Frisco until he re turns. MRS. JAMES MAGEE and daughter Miss May, will return on tho Homer after an extended visit with relatives and friends in San Francisco. They will be accom panied by Mrs. Magee's daughter, Mrs. Jerrett who will spend tho summer at the Mageo homo In Empire. EDITOR CRIPPEN, R. W. Chapman, Dr. Jas. Richmond, Bert Folsom and W. H. Thomas composed a party of Coqullle men who camo over today noon. Mr. Chapman is manager of tho Coqullle base ball team and is on route to Port land on business. Rumor has It that ho will pick up a few baseball players but It could not be verifi ed. L. A. LILJEQVIST, CHARLES MC KNIGHT and a number of other Coos Bay atlorneys went to Co qullle this morning to attend court, Mr, Liljeqvist assisting George Brown In prosecuting Holland An derson for the murder of Mrs. E. S. Gordon, and Mr. McKnight helping in the defense. Whether or not Judge Hamilton will hear any other court matters at this ses sion has not been determined. and returned in the deepening twi light at 7 o'clock, with a, very tired but happy lot of picnicers.
