Oregon, June 10, Wm. J. Brown of North Bend, Ore., and Anella Binder, of Elkton, Rev. J. L. Stratford, officiat ing. John W. Hendricks, well-known on Coos Bay, has purchased a fine farm and country home at Gresham, near Portland. The whole family Is en thusiastic over the place, according to letters received here, and each has taken charge of a branch of farm ing. One of the most pleasant family reunions ever held In North Bend was that given last evening by Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Simpson at their beautiful new home. The house was artistically decorated, flowers being used profusely. A number of the members of the family are musically gifted and a feature of tho evenlnc was the numbers rendered, Mrs. Chas Worrell contributing several. A de licious dinner was served at 6:30 o'clock. Among' thoso present were Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Worrell, Mr. and Mrs. G. SImpsbn, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Simpson, Robert Simpson, Jr., Mrs. Ed. Cathcart has completed the survey for the novr county rood that will be graded to the Cooper bridge east of tho city go ing through the Arneson place, and It is now ready to be worked as soon, as Road Supervisor S. C. Bradon has. his arrangements made. The road will bo on a gentle grade, and when completed will a very pretty drive way, overlooking tho valley along tho sides of which it traverses. It will be very convenient for farmers living; along the North and East forks and will add to tho importance of Myrtlo Point as a farming center.
