Mr.' Stutsman took a number of friends out in yesterday for a trial turn but one of the blades of tho propellor became loose and he had a little difficulty. Czarina Coming. The Czarina Is due In today from San Francisco. There has been talk that she would be remodelled so that she could ac commodate twenty or thirty pas sengers, but it has all been mere rumor and so far as can bo ascer tained the owners have taken no definite steps to make any change In the vessel. BERT GOULD of Coquille, the Re publican candidate for county sur veyor, Is spending a few days with friends on Coos Bay. . A. LILJEQVIST, W. U. Douglass and other Coos Bay attorneys re turned to Coquille this morning to attend court after having spent Sunday at their homes in thia city. WM. McKEE, CLAUDE NASBURG and a party of Marshfield young men spent Sunday at Charleston Bay. They found many rock oys ters and had a delightful time. H. P. BOHLEN and Mrs. W. M. Boh len have returned from Myrtle Point and Coquille where they spent a week with frlonds. Both were much pleased with the section. Young Couple Weds. Mark M. Condron and Miss Hattie Sinden were united In marriage at the Lynch home, near the Masonic Temple, Sun day evening at 8 o'clock by Justice C. L. Pennock. Only a few relatives and intimate friends witnessed the ceremony. The young couple will reside here, tho groom being Identi fied with the grocery business of his Brother, Ivy Condron. Young Couple Weds. Warren C. Anderson and Miss Elizabeth Pearl Carter were united in marriage at tho home of Marshal J. W. Carter Saturday evening at 8 o'clock, tho Rev. D. W. Thurston officiating. Miss Carter is a niece of Marshal Carter. Tho young couple will reside on Coos Bay and will be tho recipients of congratulations from a host of friends. . S. DOW and WM. SLEEPER left yesterday on the M. F. Plant where they will spend a few weeks on business, visiting friends and witnessing the celebration of tho arrival of the United States fleet. THE REV. D. W. THURSTON of tho Baptist church, left yesterday for Oakland where he will attend tho annual session of the Pacific Coast Baptist Conference. He will be absent about ten days, returning in time to occupy his pulpit a week from next Sunday. EDITOR CRIPPEN of the Coquillo Sentinel, is visiting friends on Coos Bay and looking after busi ness here today. Since his last visit, his beard has disappeared and friends have to look at twice to make sure that he is the man. He reports that everything in Co quille is flourishing, interest na turally centering for tho time be ing in Circuit Court proceedings. Improvements nt Cnpo Arago. Colonel S. W. He says that if the Dou glas county end of tho Coos Bay wngon road was put In as good con dition as Is the Coos county end, au tomobiles could easily be run over that route. He reports that a large amount of high grade coal is being taken out and that arrange ments are being made to greatly en large the output of the shaft. Well Known Marshfield Man Heads tho Democratic Organization For Coming Year. J. T. Hall of Marshfield has been olected chairman of the Coos County Democratic Central Committee and A. J. Sherwood of Coquillo secretary. In compliance with the stato primary law which provides that the precinct committeemen shall meet within a certain number of days after the primary election and organize tho Democratic committeemen of tho county gathered at Coquille the other day and effected an organization. In addition to be elected chairman, Mr, Hall was also elected stato committeeman, Tho following delegates were olect ed to tho Stato Convention; J. D. Goss of Marshfield, Dr. E. E. Straw of Marshfield, A. J. Sherwood of Co quille, Dr. Stemler of Myrtlo Point and Chris Rasmussen of Bandon were elected as a committee oc printing. Tho following were olected mem bers of tho executive and reception committee ; T. W. Ronnie of North Bend, E. E. Straw of Marshfield, A. J. Sherwood of Coquille, Dr. Stem ler of Myrtlo Point and Chris Ras mussen of Bandon. Tho precinct committeemen wero urged to get busy and ralso funas for tho campaign and for any other purpose that may bo authorized.
