Smith mill will soon be running at its full capacity. It was original ly expected that this would bo about 250,000 feet for a ten-hour day but it is now believed that It will be about 300,000 feet, 240,000 feet 'having been cut several days recently. Rulld Up Fishing cm Hay. There is a movement on to develop' the fishing industry on Coos Bay and a canning factory may bo brought here. R. D. Hume, who has made such a success of the business at Rogue River says that he is certain the industry could bo developed hero at a good profit. Oscar Ohman of North Inlet .Was in North Bend on business yester day. Miss Lillian McCan has been call ed to Coos River by tho illness of her sister, Mrs. E. R. Hodson. D. L. Avery, manager of the Marshfield Skating rink, was a 'North Bend business visitor yesterday. The furniture factory has built a large scaffold at their plant for the purpose of rebuilding or repairing their chimney. Mrs. Emma Dillon and son, Frank, of the General hospital staff at Marshfield, were guests of Mrs. M. P. Pratt in North Bend yesterday. Prof, and Mrs. Forman have clos ed their singing school and organized a large chorus. L. T. Putnam has been elected director of the chorus which will be made a permanent or ganization, meeting once a week. Tho first meeting will bo held next Wednesday evening. The concert by the Bridges quar tette ai me Metnodist Episcopal church last evening was greatly en joyed. It Is announced that the quartette will return again and if so will be warmly welcomed by a largo number. From here, the quartette will go to Coqullle, Myrtle .Point and Bandon and later to Gardiner.
