Marshfield city council will meet
next Monday night, that being tho
dato of the regular quarterly ses
sion. Front street paving will prob
ably bo the principal matter up.
Urings in Machinery. Tho Alli
ance yesterday brought In about sixty
tons of machinery and supplies for
tho Gas and Electric companv which
was unloaded at Porter. Tho con
signment included a large engine and
boiler for tho plant.
To Open Streets. The city coun
cil Is considering plans for opening
Cedar street from Third to Front
stroet and Chestnut street from
Third to Eighth street. Final action
lias been taken but It probably will
bo within a few weeks.

rived on Coos Bay yesterday and

settled, Mr. Johnston will send for
his wifo and daughter who aro now
in Portland, and will thon begin
housekeeping on Coos Bay.
