ADVANTAGE OF MUTUAL IIKLl' FULXKSS. Tho Times of a recent date said: "Don't fall to help all of Coos county as well as Marshfleld or North Bend or Eastsldo or Empire. Everyone should boost for tho good of this whole section. A prosperous Coqullle valley means a prosperous Coos Bay." The editor of Tho Times by the above shows that his heart is in the right place, and that he realizes tho necessity of boosting every sec tion of the county, not just the one in which ho lives, we aro all a pari of the samo county and aro anxious to see It prosperous, but If every newspaper in the county be littles tho other towns thero will al ways bo hard feelings and wrangllngs between tho towns, and not that feel ing of friendly rivalry that builds up instead of tearing down a county and its future prosperity. "A prosperous Coquillo valley means a prosperous, JL Coos Bay." He might also have add ed: "A prosperous Coos Bay means xi prosperous Coquillo valley." Mr. Maloney since taking hold of The Times has tried to build up a better feeling between those two sections. On this side wo have no fight ngainst tho bay, and wish it continued pros perity, Knowing that tho valley will get a portion of tho good money spent on tho bay. Coqullle Sentinel. (far. lV-rYlt. Oregon The Times reproduces tho abovo article from Inst week's issue of the Coquillo Sentinel, because it desires to emphasize tho Importance of a gen eral feellng'of good will and helpful co-operation in nil pnrts of tho Coos Bay and Coqullle valley country. (This feeling of mutual helpfulness, co-operation and sympathy will ro dound to tho benefit of tho Individual as well as tho community. The man who Is so narrow and prejudiced that ho cannot soo any good beyond tho narrow confines of his Immediate vi cinity, is tho samo man who is en vious and jealous of tho prosperity of his next door neighbor. Every , man on Coos Day should be proud of tho fact that almost within its gates is tho great stretch of fertile land known as tho Coquillo valloy, with its thousands of acres of rich dairy and fruit country, waiting for tho en livening and revivifying touch of la bor and capital to make It a veritable land of milk and honey. Evoryono In tho valloy should bo equally proud and enthusiastic that a city offering an opon gatoway to tho markets of' tho world Is within easy reach to fur-' lilsh an outlet for their products. Let us welcome with opon arms tho j stranger within our gates and tell i him all tho iacta of tho wonderful resources of this whole section, and not part of It. Such a story would hut add omphnsls to tho glory of our greatness. No ono 1ms soon tho Coos Bay country until ho has soon the Coquillo vnlley. and If In that tortile and favored land ho finds an nblding place nnd a homo, ho but strength ens and makes greater tho city that must in tho very nnturo of things bo tho gntowny thru which will pass tho products of his lands and hands to find tho market placo of tho world that offers a proper reward for In dustry that nowhere can Hud a better opportunity than In tho Coos Bay and Coquillo country. In this connection Tho Times Is pleased also to reprint tho following rovlow of Bandon from tlio last ls3iio of tho Itecorder: "Wo havo a population conserva tively fixed nt 2,500 hnvo llvo saw mills whoso slrona aro hoard every day, a woolen mill, shinglo mill and broom hnndlo factory, also planing mill, ench In onuratlon. nml thr slilii- i' yard roforred to whero two steamers nro now under construction. In thoj$ fall of tho year two Halt canneries operate (ono nt Prosper), and just now a creamory Is iu course of erec tion In Unndou. The most import ant now industry, however, is tho paper and pulp mill. Thou thero nro tho two steamers plying regularly bo tweon Bandon and San Francisco, In addition to several sohoonors. A thhd steamor, too tho Plollold will belong to tho (loot after July next." This Is good nows, and Tho Times Is at nil times pleased to publish a record of the progress and prosperity of nuy and all sections of Coos couit-l ty, and to promoto and forward that prosperity by giving tho wldost pos Bible publicity to the rosourcos and industries of the various sections of Coos county. With n long pull, a strong pull and a pull nil togothor, wo may all share In tho prosperity that cannot como to any ono section -without overflowing and making fruitful every other uoctlon ot this really great ana wondorful country, MANUFACTURERS AND DESIGNERS MISSION STYLE FURNITURE AND MYRTLE WOOD SPECIALTIES White Cedar Chests Made to Order, J.
