Tho announcement of tho purchase of tho Garfield hotel by J. II. Bridges was In a measure inaccurate. Mr. Bridges has purchased tho hotel property out right, and not a half Interest. The complication arose from tho fact that tho property heretofore embraced in tho general term of tho Garfiold hotel property consisted of four lots. Mr. Bridges purchased tho two lots and tho Garfiold building outright, Mr. Sengstacken merely retaining tho re maining two lots. Birthday Party. Seo flsh window Smith's Fish dinner tomorrow. Cafe. GOOD ADVICE FOR GARDENER. Observnnt Editor of Coquillo Sen tinel Utters Words of Wisdom. Anyone traveling on tho Coquillo river during tho summer months will see largo fields of cabbage growing and if they will make the samo trip in tho winter they wll lsee a largo number of these samo cabbages la tho ground partly rotten, while tho merchants of this county nro com pelled in winter to ship their cabbago either from San Francisco or Port land. If tho ranchers of this county would tako care of their crop they would havo these hundreds of dollars that aro being sent outside, while tho consumers aro compelled to pay three cents a pound for cabbage. Thcro is always a good demand for cabbage in any country, and hero where they can bo easily raised It seems a shame that hundreds of heads aro allowed to rot on the ground and tho good money of our merchants is sent outside. It Is tho samo with Hubbard squash. Wo un derstand that it is impossible to pro cure any in tho county at tho present tlmo. It seems queer to those who come ' from sections of tho country where tho land is not near as pro ductive nnd have moro to contend' with In regard to tho weather, to seo a country whore vogotables will grow in abundance but tho merchants aro compelled to ship in tho common, vegetables from outside markets when Coos county should bo supplying- such vegetables to tho city mar kets.
