Stroke of 12.
When the man in the moon looked
down on Marshfleld last night the
gonial smile, with which he has been
wont to acknowledge tho greetings
of his many friends for tho last 40
years, soon faded away and over
his face there came a look of chilled
surprise and dismay. Front street

this in order that the night officer
might look through the raised blind

Certainly thero was the same old

noted that they were everyone In a
beastly sober condition. Gono was
tho grapevine walk, missing was the
man who used to cling In loving

of John Prouss' drug store; in their
stoad was a lino of pedestrians walk

closed promptly on tho stroke of 12
