Covey of the Warmsprings Reservation leaves soon for a trip to Washington, D. C, on government busi ncss, Mr. nnd Mrs. Ralph Sharp are spend ing the week at the county seat. Mrs. Sharp went to receive medical attention for her eyes. Charles Lott was here from Lnmonla Wedneiday making proof upon his home stead. His witnesses were Jerry Ackey and William Russell. . The teachers nil had contracts for another month of school, hut on account ol short age of money in the district and for the reason that there are several caies of scar let fever in the district, by mutual consent of the school board and the teachers, it was decided to close the school at the completion of the eight months, Another fine imported black Belgian stallion has been acquired by Madras farmers. A company known ns the Madras 13 lack Belgian Horse company this week purchased from J. C. Dlanch ard, representing the Denver Horse Im porting' Co, a three year old . registered stallion, "Fiston de Avernas," paying $3600 for the animal. Comprising the company are about a dozen local people among them being T. N. Hlack, Walter Darrar, J. W. Wilson, Tom Kilmer, Mrs. M. E, Mrndlord, John Arniker, iU. S. Prine, and others. Mr, Prine will have charge of the horse.
