THURSDAY Jan. ij. 1910 INCORPORATION, THE PARA MOUNT ISSUE The most urgent need of the town of Madras, will be up tn jthe, people to deoide on Janua ,rv 31. 1910. which ia "for" or "against" the incorporation into a municipality of a district com prising approximately 800 aore of land, including the original townsite of Madras and the aev eral additions. ; This move has been proposed in the past, but had not the sup port that id shown lit this time, which in the past was due to the general belief that we were not in need of it, and that the taxes would be too heavy. At thi time the existing conditions cause the people to demand protection in many different ways, which call be" secured Only by municipal corporation. t As officers of this new mu nicipality, we need good, broad prinded, honest and progressive men, so that the business affair can be placed dnd maintained upon a sound basis. To continue as started and oarry the woric along success fully, we need sound business mep, monied men, and public spirited Citizens ofrank and file to get. thoroughly. , saturated with the truth that by helping Madras, .generally, they , will help themselves, and .that time, thought and attention given every public effort for munici pal betterment is a gpld-bond in vestment to them as individuals.
