Will Harher of Culver has purchased the Fred Killingbcck homestead in the Opal Prairie district. Mr harher is one of the younger farmers of this end of the county who arc making a success of it and gradually increasing ti'.eir holdings. The roads arc drying out and some grain is beginning to move from this sec tion to the market at Shaniko. A major ity of the farmers arc busy with Kail seed ing and plowing, however, and not a great ileal of grain will be moved until this Kali work is completed. Howard W. Turner,' who has been quite ill at prineville with typhoid fever, is rpoited to' be convalescing. He has been ill for Uesrly a month and his con dition was quite seiious at one time. His friends in Madras will be glad to know that he is on the road to recovery. Henry M.
