Welch Irom the irrigation company, was sold by him to a Colorado man. Mr. Welch expects to buy another tract from the company. George V. Dillon has resigned his position as road superviior for this dis trict, which oflicc he has filled very ac ceptably for the past two years. J. W. Livingston of this place has been rccom mtndcd for the position, and will doubt less be appointed. He is interested in good roads fn this section of the county, ami the district will be foitunatc in se curing his services as supervisor. M. Marks, a mining man Horn the Windy Hollow district in the Lakevicw country, wa. in town last Friday. He is interested in a group of claims adjoining the famous "Jumbo" claim, which was the oiiginal diicovcry claim 111 the dii trict. Mr. Marks u an experienced min ing man, having woiked in the famous gold fields of South Africa, Australia and Alaska, and he is enthusiastic about the future of the Lakevicw mines. K. V. Jenkins was in town last Friday from his ranch eight miles south of this place. He repoits farmers in his locality all busy with their Spring planting and sy that he never saw Fall grain looking better at this season than it does now. While hetc Ml. Jenkins left a subscrip lion for the new 1907 manual of soil culture being ptiblishtd by Mr. H. W. Campbell, originator of the dry tanning system which bears his name.
