The work of widening and preparing the automobile road for the Vjg auto was commenced at the Madras end of the road this week and working toward Cress Keys. John Hammond is superintending the work and has seven men and a road grader employed. When the big auto first passed over the road, the grade was found in many places to be too narrow, the cattleguards were defective and in several places the road was not properly rolled. Where (he auto road was solid and procerly rolled the big machine gave perfect satisfation, and the crew now employed will place road in good order so that when the autQ next starts it will probably meet with no ob stacks. - Hfoif.
