Essential to New York to Retain Her Commerce. In, the agitation for the approval of the »105,800,000 canal bill, it is pointed out that New Orleans this year, exported 1.000,000 bushels of wheat more than New York. That city claims 32,500,000 bushels against 31,150,000 bushels in New York. A properly constructed canal, equal to the demands of the present, would destroy the railroad combina tion against the state. Therefore. It becomes a question whether th -■ state will agree to an Improvement of its canals or submit to a decline of its commerce. BABY SAIT. N a EABT year. F«ar.
