About half of their contract is com pleted Work on the rock work o< the tunnel, which is about 60 feet long will be commenced next week. About 125 teams are employed on the work at this time. D. A. Utter also reports that there are now 175 teams at work on the Dead Ox canal, and that between sev en and eight miles of the canal are completed, leaving six miles more of the contract. This work has been fin ished in a little over three months with a much smaller force part of the time. This indicates that the entire canal will be completed before the end oi March.
