Ket a wagoa or a sleira cab coae lata town and be left by its driver for aa aslant without being sur aouaded by a crowd of famished cattle eager to get at every thing capable of being eaten. To aay that this is very annoying to strangers is drawing it extremely mild. Wt hare on several occasions seen an aaiisal Tet almost entirely into a wagon in search of food; ose day this week we saw a slr ; eauaga pasre-ooara oox, anotner eating i the dirt swept off the floor of oae of our stores, while the principal mesas of sub sisteace far all has bcea the droppings of horses ia the streets. If it be pleaded that poTerty prevents the owners of this stock irosL properly taking care of them we have only to reply that a man who is too poor to feed a dumb brute is too poor to own one, aad had better sell or gire them to some ose who will take care of them. Such treat ment is without excuse- The matter of al lowing these cattle to ran thus at large is a disgrace to Pendletoa aad we hope our town council will at least take some steps to abate the nuisance if they caaaot force the i owsera to feed them. j JmperUmt to BlaeksmliXsX Aay ese paykie the asm ( oae dollar! iato this eSee will be faraisbed gratis with fall iastructioBs haw to stake a good monkey wrench.
