Tho-hog belong to the pchyder BtU, and they pack a dear matter of lira after he it killed. Th tail of the pig is insignificant, hardly big enough to liack a hog; but pif tail i tobacco nevertheless. "When I peak of pigmy, I do not refer to mv pig, but to a pig of nnolli tr color; that is to say, he is not the pigment. It has been n&id that you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear; but for all that, a souse ear in not so bad. If ire had a souse here, you should see for yourselves. As the ear cannot pursue you, however, let us not pursue the subjrct turtlier. Some part of the animal are not Usually consi lered good to eat, but I hare known lots of pcoplu who could go the whole hog. The whole hog, by the way, is not o big as ,the hogshead. Twos not n hog said this. He was too pig h-paded. The hog is a porcine animnl, at d there are many poor seen where lie is kept. The man who takes care of him, though not necessarily a poor creature, is still a pork rencher. The hog I mean the four legged animal does not smoke until after he is dead and he only doer it then to sTe his bacon. Care roust be taken that you do not get too much of a bake on. The hog's head is sometimes called minister's face, but I cannot say wliv, and will therefore pan-on. Hogs aro sometimes fed on mast. Like the poor failor, they don't get much to eat before the mast. The tie which binds the pig to his homn is the pigstye. The hog gets very fat, but no mat- -ter how fat he is, you will ulwayx we him lean against something. Although he does not own his stye he has a lit n on it. He does not take fat" evenly; ho nl wajs has two spare ril.s. Thix is not aying, mind, that he has two rits to pare. Although a hog is a hog, he never turns the cold shoulder to his- bene facrer'during life. The meanest kind of a hog is the. two legged variety. It makes one al tnost.bristle up to tliiiifc of him. He is not a pleasant subject for con templation, and I will not' bore you by describing him. He is generally a poor shofe. I need not attempt to show it to you. "Boston Transcript." A Mltrr't Strange Death. Tie-William II. Yost of Theresa, JVffrrson county, who committed su cFdein England recently, early in life formed a resolution to acquire a for tune of S100.000. He came of a family of meads and had a good Mart in life as a farmer. When he had .e cured 70,000, some six years ago, he niarr'red'a Jliss Mitchell. She was well connected in every respect and wor thy of any man, but, owing to Mr. Yost's resolution to get 5100,000, he forced his family to live in the meanest and poorest wny. His penuriousness and grasping ambition allowed his wife so fen cf the comforts of life that quar rels ensued; and when she found that she was not cared for she applied for a divorce. Tt,- -. - en..! .. :.i. .i.- " T-' '- Court proceedings and the scandal was mr llAAAAlll vmt o Ji t 1. .... .T in everyhodys mouth. JudgeauJ'jurv took the jiart of the wife and she got alimony amounting to a considerable sum for the suppoit of herself nnd only child a boy. To get clear of judg ment and avoid paying llnr money her husband went to Canada, living mot of the time at Kingston. He took with him 7,000 or 88,000 worth of drafts. It was his fatal1 mistake, for, instead of getting them cached md carrying the money, he sent them back for collection. As soon an they reached the bank officers of the law seized them -am! applied them on the nlimony. He then went to Europe, and the news of his t-uicide is the first intelligence his friends received from him. "Troy Times." 3 Treatment of Sciatica. This troublesome disorder may be often cured and greatly relieved by a resort to the Tuikish bath; but as that is oft en out of reach of the patient, a good substitute-may be found in very hot compresses. Wring out al night, be for going tobed, a large towel wet in water as hot as can be emersed, ami ferment the parts over the affected for half an hour. After the fermen tation rub the parts vigorously with tho hands, and cover with thick fhnnel for the night. Persevere with this treatment for several d-iyn, and the pa tient will generally be richly rewarded in a greater or less release from the trouble.
