TEE HOCdCRULD: A true test for eggs is to drop them in water, and if the large end comes up they are not fresh. It lasts better after shrinking. "When boiline cabbage put a sliee of salt pork in the water, and an agreea ble flavor with no objectionable grease or fat will be given to the cabbage. A simp'e but delicious dish for des sert is made by cutting up oranges in small pieces and then pouring over them tome rich boiled custard. Serve with cake. To boil ducks, choose a fine fat one salt it for two days, then boil it slowly in a cloth. Serve it with onion sauce using milk instead of water in its prep aration. If befora you put rolls in the tin to bake them, .you rub the edges with a i.tno mplteil butter. ,.... -it . - - troubled by their sticking' togevtfer when baked, and they will be smooth.
