Mr. Swan, of Siski you county, Cal., has purchased thir teen head of fine hordes in our valley during last week, paying from 100 to $225 per bead. Mr. Swan intends to ship them to the Oakland market. This is the title of a neat and interesting little book, of 150 pages, left at this office by the author, Mrs. R. trazier. Jirs. F. will canvass this county and State for the sale ot her book, the price ot which is one dollar. Mrs. F. is not what we term a "woman's rights wo man " but rather humanitarian. "The deign ot the author," to use the au ,w words. " is to establish a School at Alameda, where conservative ideas and principles of truth and integrity wilt be disseminated, and wiicre young rirls will have that moral culture which will fit them for the world, in dependent of Fectional or sectarian prejudices."
