On Mondiiv lust a dillleultv oeetirictl at Willow Springs between a party ol , white men and Chinamen, in which one of the while men was hit in the' back with a stone and on the leg with a shovel. One of the Chinamen ' bail an iirm broken, and two others in jured with rocks. It seems the China men piirclinMid of some inineis this Summer a claim, which was ineasuietl t otl'to them, but incorrectly, a, it seems; , for a part of the claim conllicteil with th it of a company of white men. The Chinamen voiumeuccd work on this disputed tmct, when they were order ed to dchist, but not complying, the white men jumped into the claim and proceeded to tear away the sluice boxes. The celestials, probably think ing their right to work there good, mid tho privilege of defending their prcmi ses proper, showed liirlit to the intru ders; mid one of the men receiving a stroke on thu leg from a shovel, the whites retreated to the bank and made ircu use of thestouch lying thereabouts. Tho battle resulted as above stated. AVo understand the dilfcrcuce has been settled by the men who sold the claim to the Chinamen purchasing the dis puted strip thus making tho China men's title good. Sim:....ino Si'iiooi.
