executed to day. On the petition of Mary
Hurratt, through her eounwl, Messrs.
Aiken and Clemelt, Judge Wider of the
Supreme Court of this District, Issued a
writ of liuUtis cotpui to General Hancock,
commanding him to produco in court this
morning at 10 o'clock precisely, the body
ol Mary K. Hurratt, with tho causa of her
detention. Tho writ ns served on (Jen.
Hancock at 8 o'clok this morning by
United States Marshal flooding. He Im
mediately consulted with tho Attorney
General and tho Secretary of War. At
10:30 the Ucneral had not obeyed tho writ.
This fact was brought to the notice of the
Court by her counsel, but the Judge fatd
he had no power to culorca the writ. To
day guards were placed ull n round the ar
senal, and guards to prercnt the Intrusion
of persons to tho seeno of execution, Rone
being admitted except there pKviously
supplied wU' tickets bv Ocn. Hancock.
Tho relations of Mrs. Surratt and liar-
old spent several hours with them during
the forenoon. They were ulso attended by
their spiritual advisers as were ald AIM

o'clock the outer prison door was opened.
Mrs. Surratt was supported on her way to
the gallows by two military oflleen. Xext
