casions the most noticeable feature In
this season’s fashions is the almost
uncalled for length of the court trains.
The Empress dress, beautiful as it is,
seems rather designed for a court dress
than for our receptions or ball rooms;
but fashion is fashion, and we have
but to note tho exceeding richness
with which these dresses are fin

simple material, such as gauze or crepe;
it is tight and clinging to the figure, is
short enough to show the feet, and is
easy to walk in, but the back of tho
