I Died -At Hillsboro. Dee. 11th. 187C Dr. John Vite, nged 47 years, C uioutbsaud 25 days. Dr. Vite was born on the Suqnehanna in Pennyylvsnia, May lGth. 1829. He i ractic ed in medicine and surgery in tbe St. Louis Quarentiue Hospital for several years and received bis diploma from the St. Loui Medical College in March 1870, and the same year moved to Oregon and located here where he hits practiced bis profession up to tbe time of bis death. He died esteemed in tbe community as a successful physician nnd a law-abiding, useful, and intelligent citizen. He was a friend to the poor to whom his purse was open and his sympathy warm and active. He bad strong convic tions and often expressed himself strongly, which made him some enemies and all physiciaps whether good or bad have enougl of them.
